Academic Advisor

Purpose: To assist students with class scheduling, major/minor decisions, & post-graduation plans.
Location: The office of the particular professor [Coordinator of Advisors is in University Hall 105].
Hours: During advisor’s regular office hours or by appointment.

Academic Skills Center

Purpose: To work one-on-one with students on general study skills such as time management, note-taking, test preparation, & test-taking anxiety.
Location: Corns, 3rd floor, inside the Sagan Academic Resource Center.
Hours: Monday-Thursday, 2-5 p.m.

Associate Dean for First-Year Students

Purpose: To help First-Year Students with academic issues in general or related to specific course work, mid-term grade estimates and schedule changes.
Location: University Hall 107b.
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9-5 p.m. E-mail for an appointment.

Beeghly Library

Purpose: To assist students in learning how to access search engines and credible research sources.
Location: Beeghly Library, Information Services Desk.
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - noon, 1-5 p.m., additional hours by appt.

Career Services

Purpose: To facilitate connections between education and career journeys by providing career advising, skills and interests tests, resume workshops, graduate and professional school information, and reference services.
Location: Hamilton-Williams Campus Center 324.
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - noon, 1-5 p.m.

Counseling Services

Purpose: To help students successfully transition through various academic and interpersonal challenges in order to attain their individual goals and optimize their learning experience.
Location: Hamilton Williams Campus Center 324.
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - noon, 1-5 p.m.

Course-Specific Tutoring

Learning Disability Services

Purpose: To provide assistance to students with learning disabilities (such as ADD).
Location: Corns, 3rd floor, inside the Sagan Academic Resource Center.
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. - noon, 1-5 p.m.

Quantitative Skills Center

Purpose: To help students gain confidence in their ability in the quantitative areas such as mathematics by providing individualized and alternative modes of instruction for such classes as Astronomy, Chemistry, Economics, Math, and Quantitative Methods.
Location: Corns, 3rd floor, inside the Sagan Academic Resource Center.
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. - noon, 1-5 p.m.

Registrar’s Office

Purpose: To ensure proper enrollment and clarify university procedures such as dropping and adding classes, transferring credits, and withdrawal procedures.
Location: University Hall 114.

Writing Resource Center

Purpose: To work with students to become more confident, effective writers by helping with idea generation, organization and development of content, the writing process, and citation rules.
